Lamb, Waltz and Lagat Advance at Olympic Trials
7/3/2008 ~ Washington State junior Matt Lamb threw the second-best distance in the men's discus qualifying round with Cougar alum Ian Waltz third in the prelims Friday night at the USA Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Bernard Lagat also advanced in the men's 1500m in weather conditions ideal for distance runner, cool and overcast.

Lagat Returns to Third Olympic Games
Washington State's Bernard Lagat won the men's 5000m at the USA Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., and will make his third trip to the Olympic games but only his first time competing as an American citizen.

Diana Pickler Makes USA Olympic Team in Heptathlon
Washington State freshman Jeshua Anderson finished ninth in the men's 400m hurdles semifinals Saturday afternoon with a time of 48.92 seconds, and will not advance to the final at the USA Olympic Trials being held at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Cougars Well-Represented at USA Track & Field Olympic Trials
Washington State will have 14 current or former athletes competing at the USA Track & Field Olympic Trials beginning Friday, June 27, in Eugene, Ore., with another four athletes provisionally qualified. All will be vying for one of the three top spots in each event that will advance to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Aug. 8-24.

Anderson Named Pac-10 Track & Field Men's Newcomer of the Year
Washington State freshman Jeshua Anderson was named the Pacific-10 Conference Track & Field Men's Newcomer of the Year by a vote of the conference track and field coaches, the conference office announced Monday.
